Electron Spin–Spin Interactions in DNP: Thermal Mixing vs. the Cross Effect

نویسندگان

چکیده

The spectrum of the electron spin–spin interactions largely determines mechanism that governs dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP). A narrow favors solid effect (SE). broader brings cross (CE) into play—that is an exchange Zeeman energy with spins—and a very broad also thermal mixing (TM)—that interaction spins. previous article described Monte Carlo simulations these for approximately spherical radicals in glasses and showed this best by Lorentzian smoothly cut-off Gaussian. That work provided analytical approximations lower moments width Gaussian cut-off. Here we extend derivation approximation use result to determine relative strengths flows due CE TM as function diameter radicals, their concentration magnetic field.

Cross-frequency interactions in the precedence effect.

This paper concerns the extent to which the precedence effect is observed when leading and lagging sounds occupy different spectral regions. Subjects, listening under headphones, were asked to match the intracranial lateral position of an acoustic pointer to that of a test stimulus composed of two binaural noise bursts with asynchronous onsets, parametrically varied frequency content, and diffe...

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

The electron depolarization during dynamic nuclear polarization: measurements and simulations.

Dynamic nuclear polarization is typically explained either using microscopic systems, such as in the solid effect and cross effect mechanisms, or using the macroscopic formalism of spin temperature which assumes that the state of the electrons can be described using temperature coefficients, giving rise to the thermal mixing mechanism. The distinction between these mechanisms is typically made ...
